Accounts Receivable Manager Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Manager is a critical role that oversees the company's day-to-day activities to ensure optimal cash flow and minimal bad debt. This position requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Manage a team of AR specialists, overseeing invoicing, issuing credit/debit memos, collection, and cash application activities.
  • Credit Strategies: Develop and implement credit strategies, working closely with our membership to resolve credit issues.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee and manage day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliations to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on credit and collection activities, including aging reports and DSO analysis.
  • Complex Collections: Handle complex or escalated collection issues and negotiate payment terms with customers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales and customer service teams to address credit-related issues and customer disputes.

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in credit management, collections, or a related financial role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of credit and accounts receivable principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and senior management.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivate, goal-oriented, team player.

This is an in-office role, in N Fort Worth.
