Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to adult patients 18 and above, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient care plans, and conducting comprehensive physical assessments and evaluating patient progress towards goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provides education to patients and families on healthy habits, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care across the continuum.

Technical Capabilities:
  • Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility.
  • Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions.
