Job Summary:

The State Attorney's Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida seeks a highly skilled Finance Director to oversee all business functions, including budgeting, payroll, and accounting. This is a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise personnel in the preparation and review of accounting functions, including budgeting, payroll, and contract records.
  • Maintain compliance with internal accounting procedures and controls, as well as Justice Administrative Commission and Florida Department of Financial Services procedures.
  • Compile and prepare city and state legislative and operating budgets, financial reports, and related statements.
  • Establish policies and procedures for application in all fiscal areas within the scope of overall state, county, federal, or agency policies.
  • Direct and coordinate the preparation of periodic budgets, financial reports, and other related documents of a complex nature.
  • Supervise personnel, including a grant manager and fiscal assistants responsible for travel, due process purchases, and payroll.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in finance/accounting.
  • Four years of professional accounting or financial experience, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • Master's degree and three years of professional accounting or financial experience, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; P.A. certificate and three years of professional accounting or financial experience, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
