Commercial Construction Estimator Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team at Axis Construction Management, LLC. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our project development process by accurately estimating project costs, preparing comprehensive bids, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
  • Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and material pricing to determine project expenses.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for the estimation process.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and pricing breakdowns for submission to clients.
  • Evaluate project risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project costs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to ensure competitiveness in bidding.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations as required.
  • Assist in value engineering initiatives to maximize project value while controlling costs.
  • Support project teams during the pre-construction phase by providing accurate and timely cost information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, with a minimum of 10 years in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff) and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse project teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
