The Lexington Public Library is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Library Associate II to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide exceptional customer service, support public service functions, and contribute to the success of our library.
Key Responsibilities- Provide customer service and support to patrons, including answering questions, resolving issues, and providing information on library resources and services.
- Assist with circulation tasks, such as checking out and returning materials, and processing patron accounts.
- Support library programs and events, including planning, promoting, and implementing activities for children and adults.
- Collaborate with library staff to achieve goals and objectives, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining library collections, assisting with technical services, and providing support for special projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to learn and apply library procedures, policies, and technologies.
- Flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
