Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team at the Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units (OTxHU) in New York City. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients with complex health conditions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Patient Care
    • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex medical needs
    • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments as needed
    • Monitor patient vital signs, lab results, and other data to inform treatment decisions
  • Education and Support
    • Develop and lead educational sessions on health maintenance, disease prevention, and self-management skills
    • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families navigating complex medical situations
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions between departments
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Supervise and mentor less-experienced nurses to promote professional growth and development
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
    • Engage with patients, families, and colleagues to foster a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication
  • Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Requirements

  • Licensure and Certification
    • Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Education and Experience
    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Skillset
    • Strong clinical knowledge and skills in assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
