Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Crisis Therapist to join our team at LifeWorks Northwest. This is an on-call position that requires working from home and responding to crisis calls by phone or in person as needed.

About the Job

The Overnight Mental Health Crisis Therapist will provide crisis intervention to individuals across the lifespan, including adults, children, and families who are experiencing mental health concerns. The successful candidate will have strong assessment, decision-making, and interpersonal skills, as well as a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency situations involving individuals experiencing mental health crisis
  • Provide behavioral health risk assessments and crisis intervention in the community
  • Perform client evaluations and risk assessments, formulate a diagnosis, and develop a short-term stabilization plan
  • Notifies clients and significant others of diagnosis and initial recommendations
  • Provides consultation and training to staff, caregivers, families, and community organizations regarding mental health issues

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Valid and active QMHP credential certification through MHACBO or a valid and active status with an approved Oregon licensing board
  • At least 1 year of experience providing clinical interventions and mental health assessments with children and families or individuals with severe and persistent mental illness

Benefits

  • Starting salary: $36.73 per hour
  • Swing shift differential: additional $7.50 per hour for actual hours worked
  • Stipend for having the phone overnight
