Nurse Residency Program for Recent Graduates

Nursing Residency Program OverviewOur nursing residency program encompasses all nursing disciplines (licensed and unlicensed) with distinct pathways to help our employees reach their career goals. The program is specifically designed using QSEN's knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSA's) while incorporating our Planetree Philosophy.

Program Goals- Transition successfully to a competent practitioner
- Provide patient-centered care that is safe, effective, efficient, timely, and equitable
- Advance critical thinking ability and improve skills in clinical decision-making
- Participate in research and evidence-based care
- Become engaged as an entry-level nurse leader at Griffin Hospital
The Graduate Nurse Residency Program has two tracks: RN Track and ADN-BSN/BSN-MSN/Med-Surg to other areas.
RN Track:
- 12-month residency program
- Meet once per week for the first 8 weeks
- Each meeting will be 4 hours
- Meet once a month from month 3-12
- Each meeting will be 4 hours
ADN-BSN/BSN-MSN/Med-Surg to other areas:
- Preceptor-led orientation
- Sign-off paperwork required
- Professional development
- Pathways to continue growth
