Salary

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $18.50 per hour for new technicians to $35.50 per hour for those with substantial prior experience, with opportunities for growth and advancement based on individual performance and tenure.


Job Description

As a Field Service Technician with USIC, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently locating underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems. Your primary duties will include:

  • Accurately marking the location of underground utilities using best-in-class ticket and claims management systems
  • Completing thorough documentation and photographing each locate

You will work independently in the field, utilizing company-provided vehicles and equipment, and will be expected to maintain a safe and professional demeanor at all times.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Computer proficiency
  • Available to work overtime and weekends, as needed
  • Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position)
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
  • Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
  • Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
