About the Role

As a Teller I, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and processing everyday banking transactions with accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide personalized solutions to meet their financial goals. You will also be responsible for educating customers on TD's products and services, and referring them to a partner for specialized solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute TD's Brand promise to customers by consistently executing appropriate behaviors to deliver a Legendary Customer experience in the Store.
  2. Perform customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan and safe deposit box payments efficiently.
  3. Process cash transactions such as cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawer, and night deposits with a high level of accuracy.
  4. Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures and escalating to management as necessary.
  5. Engage in lobby leadership by orchestrating customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and guiding appropriately.
  6. Understand customer preferences with banking (when and how they want) and educate customers on self-service/digital options that meet their needs.
  7. Act as an advocate for the customer by conducting needs-based conversations; offering financial & digital solutions, and/or referring the customer to appropriate partner to provide solutions.
  8. Makes sound decisions and provides timely problem resolution, escalating more difficult issues to management.
  9. Ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
  10. Verifies customers' identities by following customer authentication policies & procedures.
  11. Balances cash drawers Automated Teller machines (ATMs) and Teller Cash Dispensers (TCDs)/ Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs) as necessary.
  12. Adheres to safe deposit box procedures/operations and guidelines.
  13. Responsible and accountable for cash drawers and vaults including maintaining appropriate cash limits and securing cash at all times.
  14. Accountable for ensuring confidential customer information is securely stored throughout the day.
  15. Understands the importance of and follows dual control.
  16. Follows all security and audit measures to minimize potential loss.
  17. Utilizes bank tools and processes to detect, address and prevent fraud.
  18. Expected to complete all required in-classroom training and on-line training by established due dates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months work related experience preferred; or equivalent can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, military experience.
  • Ability to work during operating hours to include weekends, evenings, holidays as scheduled.
  • Demonstrated Customer Service skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to be concise, clear and consistent.

Compensation and Benefits
