Job Overview

This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of our young passengers. As a Full-Time Bus Aide, you will be the friendly face greeting each child at pick-up and bidding them farewell at drop-off, creating a warm atmosphere of trust.

Responsibilities
  • Buckle each child into their seat before the bus moves-safety first
  • Engage the kids with fun activities throughout the ride
  • Ensure that every child is handed over to a responsible adult listed on their Emergency List, preventing any child from being left unattended
  • Communicate preliminary pick-up and drop-off times and locations to parents at least two days before school starts
Requirements

To thrive as a Full-Time Bus Aide at Child Advocates of Blair County, you'll need a unique blend of skills and qualifications that ensure our young riders feel safe and cared for.

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is essential, as it demonstrates your foundational education
  • Excellent communication skills to foster positive interactions with children and effectively relay information to parents
  • A knack for organization will help you keep track of each child's pick-up and drop-off details, ensuring their safety
  • Patience and a nurturing demeanor are vital when managing lively bus trips, along with the ability to engage kids in enjoyable activities
  • Adaptability and readiness to respond to any situation will ensure a secure and supportive environment
