Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at Mercer Healthcare Center. As an SLP, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their communication and swallowing goals.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $8,000 sign-on bonus, paid annually. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for residents. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating patient charts, screenings, and medical evaluations to create effective treatment strategies. Additionally, you will plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative programs to address communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Evaluating patient/resident medical charts, screenings, and evaluations under physician order to develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Conducting rehabilitative programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive skills, as well as administering, scoring, and interpreting specialized speech tests.
  • Instructing residents, families, and caregivers on safe swallowing techniques, diet recommendations, and ways to practice new skills.
  • Attending interdisciplinary meetings to share clinical findings and collaborate with other members of the rehab team.
  • Participating in family meetings/education sessions to provide valuable insights and support.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. A valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License is also required.
