MRI Technologist Position at UNC Health Care

We are seeking a skilled MRI technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. This is a full-time position with a standard workweek of 40 hours.
Job SummaryThis role requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team to conduct MRI procedures and analyze diagnostic data. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying patients, operating MRI scanners, administering contrast agents, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities- Patient Identification: Verify patient information, obtain medical history, and ensure patient safety.
- MRI Technology: Operate MRI scanners, select appropriate scanning parameters, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Contrast Administration: Administer oral and IV contrast agents according to protocols.
- Image Transfer: Transmit images to the quality control department, verify image accuracy, and cancel duplicate orders.
- Other Duties: Maintain a clean work environment, perform tasks in a timely manner, and volunteer for challenging tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences, American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, or registry eligibility.
- Advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
- Ongoing continuing education requirements annually.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $27.89 - $40.09 per hour. We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
