Job Summary

Equipment Depot is seeking a skilled Shop Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Shop Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and batteries, as well as construction and aerial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accept and complete work orders from the Service Dispatcher, Planner, and Manager.
  • Make mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on units and make adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired trucks to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Turn in all paperwork to the Service Dispatcher/Planner daily, including work orders, time cards, and quotes.
  • Provide guidance to technicians to assist in the completion of repairs.
  • Open, review, and validate all information on work orders at the time of the service job and throughout the process.
  • Create and organize all paperwork generated during the shop repair.
  • Communicate with customers on the status of their shop job via outbound calls.
  • Confirm scheduled maintenance has been performed on all units in the shop for repairs.
  • Answer and respond to incoming customer service calls.
  • Final sign off on shop work orders prior to invoicing.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1 year of related mechanical experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Internet software.

Work environment varies from office to job site to industrial locations.
