Horticulture Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Horticulture Specialist to join our team at Shell Lumber and Hardware Company. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our store, and promoting our gardening supplies.

The Horticulture Specialist will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and purchasing plants, flowers, and gardening supplies. This includes answering questions about plant care and offering advice on gardening techniques. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in floral design or sales and possess strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Assist customers with plant selection and provide information on gardening techniques
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, including shelving and inventory management
• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately
• Communicate with customers in both English and Spanish as needed
• Assist with e-commerce sales, including online order fulfillment and shipping

• Previous experience in floral design or sales preferred
• Knowledge of retail math and cash register operations
• Familiarity with E-commerce platforms is a plus
• Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish
• Ability to lift heavy objects, such as bags of soil or potted plants
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed

• Estimated Salary: $15-17 per hour
