Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE), advising and training lower-grade workers, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair GSE, including fuel and grounding systems, to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications
  • Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components, and perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles, and prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment
  • Maintain and update equipment records, and provide dispatch service for GSE
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
  • Ability to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment
  • Position may require travel and ability to obtain and maintain a CAC
Work Environment

The work environment is a shop setting that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds.
