Job Summary

California State University is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of plumbing tasks, including maintenance and repair of campus plumbing fixtures, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and repair of campus plumbing fixtures, equipment, and systems
  • Clearing, cleaning, and maintaining sewer lines and storm drains
  • Reviewing construction and renovation project drawings to ensure compliance with campus standards and applicable codes
  • Performing inspections on construction and remodel projects
  • Laying out and installing plumbing on new in-house construction and remodeling projects
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the plumbing trade
  • Ability to make rough sketches of plumbing installations and read and work from blueprints, plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to provide instruction to unskilled and semi-skilled assistants
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze and respond appropriately to emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Progressive responsible plumbing experience
  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship
  • Ability and willingness to perform asbestos, lead, and mold abatement if given the proper training
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The position requires the ability to wear appropriate protective equipment as needed.
