Clinical Service Technician

The Clinical Service Technician is responsible for delivering complex durable medical equipment to Apria patients in their homes. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Instruct patients on the proper use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, and oxygen equipment.
- Ensure patients understand how to operate and maintain equipment.
- Perform routine patient follow-up to provide additional equipment instruction when necessary.
- Respond to emergency delivery calls on a regular and on-call basis.
- Load, deliver, and set up respiratory, durable medical equipment, oxygen, and other necessary supplies to homecare patients.
- May pick up, clean, and disinfect medical equipment.
- Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition according to manufacturer's guidelines and company policy.
- Prepare and maintain all pertinent patient care forms and required billing forms.
- Complete all required D.O.T., F.D.A., and other required regulatory paperwork per company guidelines and instruction.
- Direct all paperwork to appropriate personnel on a daily basis.
- Maintain daily vehicle maintenance logs and incident reports.
- Ensure delivery vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Ensure preventive maintenance on trucks is performed on a timely basis according to D.O.T., F.D.A., and Joint Commission standards.
- Notify supervisor if any of the following are discovered: physical abuse of any family member, unsafe home environment for care ordered, unsanitary conditions, or animals causing such, or insufficient food for children.
- May assist less experienced Service Technicians by providing guidance and counseling on job duties and responsibilities.
- Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
- At least three years' related experience is required.
- Minimum of three years driving history required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- Must possess a commercial driver's license with hazardous materials endorsement.
- Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Delivery Service Technician Certification Program.
- Must meet and maintain job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and Joint Commission regulations.
- Basic computer skills.
- English (reading, writing, verbal).
- Basic level math skills.
