At Porter and Chester Institute, we're committed to educating and training our students to become competent employees. As a Career Education Financial Aid Specialist, you'll play a vital role in helping prospective and currently enrolled students navigate the financial aid process.

About the Role

  • You will work closely with the recruitment staff to provide financial aid consultation services to students.
  • Assist students in completing financial aid forms, explaining financing options, guiding them through the process, and addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Calculate financial aid awards, perform verifications, and resolve any discrepancies on a daily basis.
  • Provide educational funding support for our collaborative enrollment management model at the campus level.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all financial aid applicants and recipients.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience; prior financial aid experience is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of the financial aid process and procedures.
  • Knowledge of current regulations and guidelines for releasing student information.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality when handling personal finances.
  • Proficiency in common software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • High organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow.

We offer training in various trades, including Automotive Technology, HVAC-R, CAD, Electrician, Plumbing, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Practical Nursing, and Computer & Technology. Our staff, including Admissions, Financial Aid, and administrative professionals, are dedicated to making our students' experience fulfilling and enriching.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
