Job Summary

As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist RRT with Nexus Health Systems, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to children with respiratory disorders. Under the direct supervision of the CEO, you will administer therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including mechanical ventilation, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medical gases, humidifiers, medications, and aerosols for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.
  • Provide basic patient education to patients and their families.
  • Follow verbal and written orders from physicians to administer drugs and medications to the cardiopulmonary system of patients.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Evaluate treatment programs and results, taking appropriate action to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Perform basic assessments of Arterial Blood gases, Pulmonary Function Testing, EKG, and chest x-rays.
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Respiratory, physicians, and other treatment team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Three years of experience in the environment and level of care in which performing duties.
  • Six months of mechanical ventilation experience.
  • Current Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of Practice.
  • Basic Life Support- American Heart Association certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
