Diesel Mechanic Technician Lead

Ryder is a leading provider of fleet management solutions, and we're currently seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician Lead to join our team in Akron, OH.
About the Role:
We're looking for a highly skilled diesel mechanic with excellent technical knowledge and leadership abilities. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician Lead, you'll be responsible for performing complex repairs, diagnosing issues, and mentoring junior technicians. You'll work on heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring they're safe and reliable for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake, and tire work
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software when applicable
- Mentor and coach junior technicians to improve their skills and knowledge
- Communicate effectively with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions
- Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary degree or certifications preferred
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in diesel mechanics; ASE certification a plus
- Valid CDL CLASS A license preferred
- Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
