Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Swimming Educator to join our team at the YMCA of the Suncoast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about teaching and working with individuals of all ages.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons to participants of all skill levels. This includes developing and implementing lesson plans, providing feedback and guidance to students, and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver swimming lessons to groups and individuals of varying age ranges and skill levels.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of students.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their swimming skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and YMCA policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current YMCA Swim Instructor or Red Cross WSI certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with children and adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Physical stamina to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $13.70 - $14.05 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
