Job Summary

The Material Handler at Paris Corporation, Inc. plays a vital role in maintaining production and distribution processes. This position is responsible for freight loading, unloading, stocking, and preparation of pallets of product to be shipped. Additionally, Materials Handlers are integral components of inventory accuracy through cycle counting and other initiatives. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving of warehouse items
  • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility
  • Scheduling inbound delivery trucks for cartons and pallets receipts as well as bales
  • Receiving products from outside vendors into the system
  • Receiving credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying the materials and supplies code, lot number, and quantity and placing the materials in stock
  • Preparing customer shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, wrapping, loading, and securing products
  • Releasing orders from the computer system after carrier pick-up
  • Maintaining material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs
  • Labeling orders/repairing damaged cartons
  • Inventory cycle counts and physical inventory counts
  • Keeping inventory and warehouse clean
  • Interacting with drivers/vendors daily
  • Hanging paper rolls on presses as needed
  • Staging all waste including all recyclable materials
  • Following safety/company regulations on forklift/equipment
  • Maintaining material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and conducting operator maintenance
  • Identifying issues (overruns, wrong item #'s at location, scheduling conflicts, etc.) to the supervisor
  • Facilitating year-end paper audit
  • Backing up the Pick and Pack department, Waste Handler, and Paper Handling Equipment Operator as needed
  • Other duties as directed by management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior sit-down forklift experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired. (Clamp truck experience a plus, but will train)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent time management skills with a focus on deadlines
  • Strong computer skills: WMS, MS Office, RF Guns, etc.
  • Familiarity with standard practices in the Shipping/Receiving environment is necessary
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Detail-oriented, ability to balance speed with accuracy
  • Always on time and great attendance record
