Emergency Medicine Physician Leader

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at the Department of Veteran Affairs. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our nation's veterans.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care to inpatient and outpatient veterans, with approved clinical privileges in the areas of expertise related to the Emergency Department. They will demonstrate sound decision-making skills, both clinical and administrative, and facilitate the delivery of appropriate patient care in collaboration with other health professionals, staff, and management.
Key Responsibilities- Providing quality patient care to inpatients and outpatients
- Demonstrating sound decision-making skills, both clinical and administrative
- Facilitating the delivery of appropriate patient care in collaboration with other health professionals, staff, and management
- Participating in the peer review process when requested
- Serving as a role model in assessing/evaluating patient status and identifying priority needs for care
- Participating in multidisciplinary activities involving patient treatment plans and discharge plans
- Exhibiting leadership in initiating changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and findings from research and studies
To be considered for this role, you must possess an MD/DO degree from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and hold an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.
Benefits- Potential starting base salary range: $325,000-$400,000
- Daily schedule: Tour of duty will vary and will be determined upon selection
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
- No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
