Job Summary

The University of St. Thomas is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join the Center for Microgrid Research. The successful candidate will work on advanced power electronics system design, modeling, and analysis, as well as control and switching architecture design, control and optimization, system integration and testing. This position is funded in part by the Department of Defense, and the candidate must be able to access controlled unclassified information and export control data without university support.

Key Responsibilities

Work with colleagues and external collaborators to develop innovative solutions and technical approaches to modeling and design of advanced power electronics-based power systems.
Serve as lead author on project reports, journal articles, conference papers, and presentations.
Leads technical proposals for developing new projects and business.
Effectively leads collaborative teams of staff and students.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field and 1+ years of relevant work experience.
Must have a valid US driver's license and be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications include MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5 or more years of experience, PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3 or more years of experience, and strong technical expertise in control system design (hardware and software) for power electronics applications.
