Automation Controls Manager

Responsible for the transformation of controls in the Melville operation by identifying, developing, and deploying automated control technologies. Key areas of ownership include controls automation of equipment in manufacturing areas and core competency in vision, machine controls, device, and robotic solutions for Filling, Assembly, and Compounding.
Key Responsibilities- Experience with machine control, process equipment, and HMI/SCADA
- Experience partnering connectivity to IOT & MES solutions
- Partner with Manufacturing Platform owners and Digital Lead team to define, design, and execute robotic & control automation requirements and solutions for new and existing processes
- Define the optimum controls automation design, creation, and portfolio implementation plan
- Establish the controls automation equipment standards for use in design and sourcing
- Ensure supplier/automation technology complies with the digital transformation requirements/guideline
- Execute automation innovation portfolio
- Identify and manage partnership with vendors (e.g., equipment manufacturers, software developers)
- Controls subject matter expert for all engineering pillars and participate in Community of Practice
- Lead and support capability development for robotics and controls automation across the operation
- Lead and support implementation of new systems (e.g., supervise technicians and refine requirements based on local circumstances in the plant)
- Monitor & consider technological trends by collaborating with external research institutes & third parties
Responsible for lead the development and implementation of the Melville controls and automation strategy across F&A and compounding operations. Engage stakeholders across the operation to develop future state of automation. Partner with equipment manufacturers to develop and facilitate training in the areas of control logic and recipe creation to facilitate introduction of new formats.
Specs & Exp – Hands on experience Mfg and Dist automation projects, Innovation leadership, KPIs – ROI, Productivity/Capacity.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $139,600. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
