About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Peer Specialist to join our team at Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position that involves providing intake, case management, linkage and referral to medical, essential, and supportive services to individuals living with HIV/HCV and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Provide individualized support to clients, empowering them to achieve their wellness and health-related goals.
  • Interventions: Deliver behavioral interventions, including Motivational Interviewing and Strength-Based Case Management, to help clients overcome challenges.
  • Linkage and Referral: Connect clients with local resources, ensuring seamless access to essential services.
  • Community Outreach: Participate in outreach events, attending to the needs of the community.
  • Data Entry: Accurately document client information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data security protocols.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Peer Certification required; CARE Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Related experience in HIV, HCV, and/or STI policies and programs training.
  • Skills: Strong communication and public speaking skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Mobility: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and participate in community outreach activities involving prolonged standing.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to partnering agencies, requiring personal transportation.
Working Conditions

This role requires flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and weather conditions. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment.

Estimated Salary Range: $35,000-$38,000 per annum.
