Division Manager III Position in State Finance Department

The State of Arkansas is seeking a highly skilled Division Manager III to oversee the work activities in the assigned sections within the Department of Finance and Administration.
This is an exempt position with a salary range of $50,222.00 - $80,105.00 per year, based on the job location in Little Rock, AR.
About the JobAs a Division Manager III, you will be responsible for directing the activities of a medium to large professional and administrative support staff through lower-level managers, including approving hiring recommendations, reviewing performance evaluations, and evaluating the performance of immediate subordinates.
You will also direct the activities of a statewide agency program essential to the mission of the department, such as child support programs. Your duties will include developing and administering divisional budget activities, monitoring expenditures, and readjusting budget allocations when necessary.
In addition, you will analyze productivity levels and error statistics for each section or office, preparing reports to identify problems and recommendations for resolution. You will monitor tax collection and processing activities by reviewing financial reports and information on a daily basis to ensure section compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need knowledge of the principles and practices of organizational management, accounting, supervisory practices and procedures, state budgetary and purchasing procedures, revenue division or child support policies and procedures, and state and federal laws applicable to state revenue or child support services.
You must have the ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of lower-level supervisors and/or subordinates, direct personnel and budgeting activities, evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, and interpret applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in accounting, public administration, business administration, or a related field, plus four years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related area, including three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity, is required.
