Job Summary

The Multi-Modality Technologist performs general radiologic procedures, including CT and/or DEXA procedures, requiring advanced technical skills. This role involves working under the direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and requires a high level of understanding of complicated requests from internal and external providers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in various areas, providing coverage for Outpatients, Inpatients, Portables, Emergency Room, OR, and Fluoroscopy, and will be expected to perform at the highest potential of their license.

Key Responsibilities

Operates imaging equipment while performing X-Ray, CT, and/or DEXA procedures, demonstrating knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Reviews medical records and referral orders for patient history and pertinent clinical information, transferring patients to imaging tables and explaining procedures. Monitors patients' well-being during exams, recognizing discomfort or medical problems and taking appropriate action. Utilizes the ALARA concept to minimize patient radiation doses and documents and reports any over-exposure. Maintains cleanliness of all rooms, machines, and cassettes in the department and stocks room supplies as needed. Performs other duties as required or assigned, contributing to radiology students' learning and growth by sharing knowledge through hands-on learning, constructive feedback, and mentoring. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks. Enhances hospital and departmental reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Serves and protects the hospital community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements.

Requirements

Registered with the ARRT with advanced certification(s) in CT or Bone Density, certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support, and licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the State of New Hampshire. Experience and education requirements include an Associates Degree in Radiology Technology or equivalent.
