Electrical Discipline Engineer Job Description
H2M is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Discipline Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our electrical engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, stand-by power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security systems.
- Grow, develop, and supervise a group of Electrical Engineers in project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications.
- Review electrical department design documents for completion and ensure that department staff adhere to accepted industry and company standards.
- Work with our QA/QC team to develop and implement company quality standards and procedures.
- Assist in the development of electrical short- and long-range manpower and production plans to meet project objectives.
- Participate in client presentations and assist in the cultivation of business development initiatives to pursue new projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 10-15+ years of experience with a consulting engineering firm designing building power, lighting, communication, and security systems.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry, including Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Licensed NJ Professional Engineer (NY PE a plus).
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software).
- LEED Accreditation and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and EasyPower desired.
- Prior experience supervising staff.
- Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems a plus.
