Career Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Department of Corrections (DOC) Unit. As a member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the DOC Unit and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

You will work closely with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as 'Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.' You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying our organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assessing patient conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Performing procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
  • Administering prescribed medications, monitoring patients for therapeutic response, and taking appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Providing exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educating patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing, with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice, or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
  • Comfort interacting with prisoners and correction officers.

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a Full-Time position with rotating weekends and holidays required. Shifts are 12 hours in length, approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
