We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Safety Support Associate. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients and staff at our interim housing site.

About PATH

PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) is a pioneering organization that has been working towards ending homelessness since 1984. We operate services throughout California, providing a comprehensive continuum of support to individuals experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to make a positive difference in people's lives and help them achieve stability and independence.

Job Description

The Safety Support Associate will work closely with the onsite case management team to provide support to the interim housing site. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the overall safety of the interim housing site through observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement
  • Coordinating with the onsite case management team to provide support to the interim housing site
  • Conducting regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds to identify any concerns or discrepancies

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An analytical mind and attention to detail, with the ability to gather and interpret data to inform decision-making
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to individuals and groups
  • A proactive approach to work, with the ability to take initiative and make decisions without being prompted
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and evaluate information and situations

Preferred qualifications include experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or de-escalation/non-violent crisis intervention. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also required, as driving is an essential function of this position.
