As a Nurse Coordinator at Advocate Aurora Health, you will play a vital role in facilitating a timely, integrated, and coordinated approach to patient care. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide quality nursing care and promote positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the direct care of patients to promote positive clinical outcomes and document in the electronic medical record per department standards.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of women and men with cancer-related health concerns.
Interview and assess new patients for physicians.
Assist physicians with clinic visits and procedures as needed.
Provide patients with education related to prevention, diagnosis, tests, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
Teach patients about the importance of screenings such as mammograms and colonoscopies.
Coordinate testing and expedite results reporting.
Provide emotional support and assure continuity of care by interfacing with day surgery, in-patient units, and out-patient facilities.
Requirements:
BSN preferred with 3-5 years of focused experience in clinical areas.
Board Certification by 12/31/2015 or within two years of hire.
Current RN license in the state of Illinois.
CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
Ability to work with patients in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
