Mathematics Faculty Position

Miami Dade College is seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Faculty member to join our team. As a Mathematics Faculty, you will be responsible for teaching lecture and laboratory sections, evaluating students, and performing career and academic advising.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Teach lecture and laboratory sections, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to engage students and promote learning.
- Evaluation and Advising: Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and offer academic and career guidance to students.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the development and revision of curriculum to ensure it meets course objectives and is aligned with industry standards.
- Departmental Involvement: Participate in departmental recruiting and retention activities, as well as contribute to departmental, campus, and college-wide programs and committees.
- Student Support: Serve as a resource person for adjunct faculty, provide support to students, and prepare and submit student information to the Department Chairperson.
- Flexibility: Teach day, evening, and weekend classes as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to student success.
- Education: Master's Degree in Mathematics or a related field, with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
- Credentials: All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- Skills: Familiarity with collaborative learning techniques, student-centered methods of instruction, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience: Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community, with demonstrated effective use of active learning techniques.
- Additional Requirements: Previous curriculum development and recruitment experience a plus, with the ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment and a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.
