Introduction

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Computed Tomography Technologist (Nights)

We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Computed Tomography Technologist on a full-time basis. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and completing diagnostic CT examinations accurately and safely. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the CT scanner and ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CT scanner operation and be able to troubleshoot technical issues. You will also be able to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all imaging needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Select proper technical factors for study and perform and complete diagnostic CT examinations accurately and safely
  • Demonstrate sound and thorough operational knowledge of the CT scanner and related equipment
  • Assist in the administration of contrast media and other related procedures
  • Prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring modesty and safety
  • Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within the electronic medical record accurately and on time
  • Obtain high-quality CT images, ensuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation
  • Remain proficient in executing software protocols and keep up to date with changes in the field by in-service study, attending courses or seminars as necessary/recommended
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and other caregivers to include the radiologist
  • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of the table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases, and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
  • Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency plus college/technical training
  • Valid ARRT (CT) certification
  • Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting of patients/equipment up to 100 lbs.
  • Minimum of 1 year current/recent experience as a CT Technologist, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting
