Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician III to join our team at Orange County Correctional Facilities. As a primary care physician, you will be responsible for providing medical and mental health services to adult inmates, promoting patient safety and improving patient care practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive physical examinations and order appropriate diagnostic studies
  • Supervise, direct, and consult clinical staff
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with various medical conditions
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and Orange County Sheriff's Department administration to promote quality healthcare delivery
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements
  • Board certification in a primary care specialty
  • One or more years of experience working in triage/urgent care, mental health, or correctional medicine
  • One or more years of experience working in the subspecialty field of which you hold subspecialty certification
  • Valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate/License number issued by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California
  • Valid DEA license number and expiration date for verification
  • Valid National Provider Identification (NPI) number for verification
  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Professional Card-American Heart Association or approved equivalent provider certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a correctional healthcare setting
  • Subspecialty certification in a field such as endocrinology, infectious disease, or pain management
  • Leadership and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
