Respiratory Therapist NICU Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a key member of our NICU team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care plans for patients in the NICU, including mechanical ventilation and airway management.
- Perform and interpret various tests and procedures to assess and manage patient care, in accordance with physician orders.
- Oversee the work of technical respiratory care personnel and provide guidance and constructive criticism as needed.
- Attend and participate in hospital educational programs and patient care rounds to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
- Provide education and training to students, physicians, and staff on respiratory techniques and equipment use.
- Collaborate with the NICU Respiratory Therapy Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor to ensure seamless patient care and departmental operations.
- A.S/B.S. in Respiratory Therapy
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification within three months of hire
- Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Respiratory Therapist
- 1-2 years of NICU training or 2-3 years of critical care experience
- NPS credential preferred
- Ability to maintain NRP/BLS certification at all times
