Rochester School District Speech Pathologist Position

The Rochester School Department is seeking a highly skilled Speech/Language Pathologist to join our team. As a District Itinerant Speech and Language Pathologist, you will provide support and professional opinions to teachers and parents regarding children with communication disabilities. You will also assist in referrals to agencies and specialists in the community, collaborate with teachers to implement therapy, and provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of communication disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support and professional opinions to teachers and parents regarding children with communication disabilities.
Assist in referrals to agencies and specialists in the community.
Collaborate with teachers to implement therapy and improve student communicative competence.
Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of communication disorders.
Participate in child study teams, referral teams, and Individual Education Plan teams.
Implement individual or group speech/language services to children with communication disabilities.
Notify parents of student progress and anticipated needs.
Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral and written communication.
Coordinate and schedule therapeutic services, diagnostics, and program planning.
Requisition and maintain needed materials, equipment, and supplies.
Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and assisting students.
Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities and self-selected professional growth activities.
Perform other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for a State of New Hampshire License as a Speech/Language Pathologist. Other qualifications may be deemed essential for successful performance in the position.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and other terms and conditions of employment shall be governed by negotiated contract with extended service as approved by the School Board.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
