About Our Team

We are a 10-bed unit at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, specializing in providing exceptional care immediately postoperatively for patients undergoing general surgery, ortho-spine surgery, total joint and other orthopedic surgeries, urology procedures, vascular surgery, gynecologic surgery, podiatric surgery, endoscopy procedures, non-open-heart cardiac catheterization procedures, TEE and Cardioversion procedures, and interventional radiological procedures.

Responsibilities
  • You will utilize therapeutic communication to maintain a safe therapeutic environment and identify nursing problems as they relate to individual patient needs.
  • You must demonstrate age-specific knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients.
  • Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality is core to your role.
  • You will utilize the nursing process for individual care to meet patient needs and document all patient care.
  • Your role demonstrates the ability to perform technical skills, follow procedures, and show critical thinking.
  • You will provide care and coordinate participation that fosters hospital mission and vision goals.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of employment start date
  • Current BLS upon hire
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of employment start date
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Current TN RN licensure or Current Compact State licensure
  • 1 year of ICU, or PACU RN experience required
