Job Summary:
">We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Specialist to join our team at Ashtabula County Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a fast-paced sleep center environment.
">About the Role:
">The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting polysomnographic procedures, gathering and analyzing patient information, preparing equipment, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be required to provide excellent patient care, ensure data quality, and collaborate with medical staff to achieve optimal outcomes.
">Responsibilities:
">- ">
- Gather and analyze patient information to determine testing parameters and procedures">
- Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing, apply electrodes, and perform physiologic calibrations">
- Conduct polysomnographic procedures, monitor study tracing quality, and identify signal abnormalities">
- Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, and assist with interventions as needed">
- Review and maintain patient medical records, prepare paperwork, and discuss concerns with the Sleep Center Medical Director/Manager">
- Ensure patient rooms are well-stocked, turn on and calibrate equipment, and greet patients">
- Apply electrodes, perform impedance checks, and begin testing">
- Monitor patients throughout the sleep study, obtain artifact-free polysomnographic data, and end tests">
- Remove electrodes, complete post-test questionnaires, and clean patient rooms and equipment">
- Schedule patients, answer questions and concerns, and prepare schedules for Sleep Center Technologists">
- Score polysomnographs, generate reports, and perform daytime testing as needed">
Requirements:
">- ">
- Certificate or associate degree in sleep technology from an accredited educational program or equivalent experience and documented proficiency">
- Certification by a nationally recognized certification board holding either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential">
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification">
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills">
- Able to work independently and as part of a team">
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
