Staff Product Manager

Qualcomm is seeking a highly skilled Staff Product Manager - Software to help define and promote Qualcomm chipsets for emerging use cases in various IoT segments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining software product requirements, analyzing business opportunities, performing gap analysis, driving execution, and helping with go-to-market plans and global customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities- Writing software product and functional requirements considering inputs from various internal and external stakeholders.
- Defining scalable architecture for IoT applications built on Android, Yocto Embedded Linux, Ubuntu, and/or Windows.
- Defining the Linux software upstreaming strategy across various IPs and partnering with the upstream community to ensure compliance of software frameworks used within the BSP.
- Defining the software roadmap of features across various IoT business segments and publishing a plan for commercialization.
- Overseeing successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring the completion of milestones and ensuring the completed work aligns with the roadmap for a product line(s).
- Driving an extensive ecosystem of third-party software developers while identifying opportunities for software reuse and architecture innovation that result in software roadmap optimizations.
- Making decisions that are significant in impact, with errors not readily apparent due to the complexity of the work process/product or time between decisions and results.
- Having a deep understanding of embedded software engineering principles.
- Having a deep understanding of software stacks and distributions based on Linux.
- Reviewing and identifying gaps in the market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and providing recommendations to address such gaps that impact product roadmaps.
- Reviewing, preparing, and delivering technical presentations regarding product roadmaps, customer RFPs, and/or proposals to demonstrate and market product portfolios to customers and/or prospective customers.
- Driving portfolio launch strategies and identifying technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact and ensuring successful product launch.
- Validating business cases and determining relevance to organizational strategy and contributing to the creation of the product roadmap to advance organizational strategy and goals.
- Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
- Advanced degree in engineering or computer science or MBA.
- 10+ years of Product Management experience managing the complete cycle of products from concept to commercialization, defining product requirements documents, change requests, and prioritization of commercial feature requests.
- Deep knowledge of the internals of various operating systems like Android, Yocto Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows IoT.
- Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams, both technical and non-technical, within a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment.
