Job Summary

As an Interventional Radiology Specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care services. Your responsibilities will include reviewing radiology exam requests, ensuring safe and appropriate imaging, and applying a broad range of skills to complete exams timely and meet quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify patient identification and radiology exam requests to ensure safe and effective imaging.
  • Apply technical skills and knowledge to complete imaging exams in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide Interventional screening process to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Perform various roles involved in interventional imaging procedures, adhering to established departmental policies and procedures.
Technical Capabilities
  • Radiology (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate radiology services in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Anatomy & Physiology Knowledge (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate anatomy and physiology knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Patient Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Compliance (Novice): Can explain and apply basic statutory instructions in normal situations on the job.
Core Accountabilities
  • Executes job responsibilities with an understanding of how output would affect and impact other areas related to own job area/team with occasional guidance.
  • Analyzes moderately complex problems using technical experience and judgment.
  • Provides informal guidance and support to team members.
Position Qualifications
  • Certifications: LIC-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Licensure-Others
  • Work Experience: Relevant Work Experience
  • Experience Level: 1 year
  • Education: Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program
