About the Role

We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Oswego Health. As a key member of our Medical Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, assisting other departments, and cross-training staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist other departments throughout the organization as needed.
  • Cross-train staff members from within Medical Imaging to ensure a high level of expertise and efficiency.
  • Operate X-ray equipment, setting controls and making adjustments as necessary to procure required images.
  • Solve problems as they arise during patient exams, ensuring a safe and effective experience for all patients.
  • Position patients for X-ray exams according to departmental standard procedures.
  • Practice radiation safety for both patients and coworkers, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform QA and other job-related duties, including cleaning and re-stocking of the area.
  • Follow all office policies, HIPAA, ACR, and NYS DOH requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Radiology operating systems, such as PACS, EMR, RIS, and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Medical Radiography or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NYS License and Registration (ARRT) required or eligible.
