Job Summary

The Employee Health Nurse provides pre-employment physicals to Loretto employee candidates, ensuring a satisfactory level of health for candidates to perform their duties optimally. Responsibilities include new employee pre-employment physical assessment and drug testing.

Key Responsibilities

Performs and documents new employee pre-employment health assessments.
Reviews immunization records for candidates and provides immunizations as needed.
Administers tuberculosis tests and performs all follow-up readings.
Performs N95 mask fit testing and preforms drug screening.
Completes all documentation thoroughly and promptly, recording test results and initiating action as required.
Communicates any issues appropriately, including negative outcomes and lack of response by employees.
Adheres to all policies, procedures, and DOH/third-party agency regulations.
Actively participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Current NYS license and registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse.
2-3 years' experience in an acute care setting.
Knowledge of blood-borne pathogens and infection control techniques.
Strong patient assessment skills and current knowledge of nursing best practices.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and providers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
