Job Summary

UT Southwestern seeks a highly skilled Senior Research Contracts Specialist to join its Sponsored Programs department. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in contract negotiation, management, and review, with a strong understanding of research-related agreements and University policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and review contract documents, ensuring compliance with University policies, UT System policies, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Negotiate contract terms with various stakeholders, including faculty, administration, and executive staff.
  • Interpret contract terms and conditions, handling requests and approval processes for amendments or contract extensions.
  • Provide principal legal review of contracts, determining the need for involvement from the Office of the Vice President for Legal Affairs.
  • Manage contracts after execution to ensure contractor performance compliance.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, with six years of experience in business or public administration, emphasizing customer service in financial or contracting positions.

Advanced degree (Master's or Juris Doctor) preferred. Completion of the State of Texas Contract Management certification (CTCM) is required.
