**Job Overview**

VisionVets, a forward-thinking veterinary clinic, is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to lead our hospitalized and surgery patients care team. As an integral part of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, collaborating with our team, and ensuring seamless communication with pet owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain detailed patient histories, provide updates, and discuss pre-surgical instructions, post-operative discharges, medication administration at home, wellness care, and basic vaccinations.
  • Restrain animals safely, compassionately, and effectively when needed.
  • Assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including IV catheter placement, fluid and medication administration, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, vaccinations, radiographs, wound care, and blood draws.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, utilize our electronic medical records system, and adhere to established protocols, DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
  • Assist in dispensing medications, monitor inventory, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate closely with all staff members to foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and exceptional patient care.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Veterinary Technician in good standing in the state of NY.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of veterinary medicine, including bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, etc.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and basic procedures.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to work effectively with doctors and support staff.
