Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector III-IV to join our team at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions. As a Mechanical Inspector III-IV, you will be responsible for performing inspections at various stages of assembly and manufacturing, including first article, in-process, and final inspections, of complex machined/molded parts for conformance to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections using common gages and measurement instruments, as well as AQL sampling and procedures.
  • Prepare required inspection documentation, including written descriptions of inspection results and Discrepant Material Reports (DMR).
  • Generate inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform quality transactions in various systems, including ERP and DMR Log.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on quality and inspection processes.
  • Develop and implement inspection procedures and recommend improvements to quality processes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 10+ years of related experience for Mechanical Inspector IV.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience for Mechanical Inspector III.
  • Formal QA/QC training or certification preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow KUAS quality processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • AA degree or some college credits preferred.
  • Security Clearance preferred.
Work Environment

The Mechanical Inspector III-IV will work in an office and/or manufacturing environment, with the possibility of extended hours or weekends as business needs dictate.

Travel Requirements

0-5% travel required between KUAS locations.
