Job Summary

As a Software Support Lead at General Dynamics, you will be responsible for leading application support for a diverse array of open source and commercial applications. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead application support for a diverse array of open source and commercial applications
Lead team to coordinate software updates, refinements, testing, and debugging to meet business needs
Provide analysis for reports on software project specifications, activities, or status
Advise on the software or system for optimal documentation and future maintenance and updates
Create and track quality metrics
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices
Coordinate escalation support for application issues as needed

Requirements

B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering or related field
5+ years supervising software configuration management
Experience analyzing complex system requirements
Experience managing software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an Application Support Specialist or a Bioinformatician
Familiarity with Cold Fusion (preferred) and open source tools such as Python, Rstudio, Jupyter, Maven, as well as other open source bioinformatics tools
