Job Overview

The GEO Group is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join its team. As a key member of our maintenance operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of our facilities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery;
  • Conduct thorough surveys of assigned jobs to ensure that all necessary materials and tools are available;
  • Carry out repairs and replacements for doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, and other structural elements;
  • Repair and maintain plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems, including furnaces, ductwork, air conditioners, piping, instrument controls, washbasins, and toilet facilities;
  • Execute electrical work, such as repairing and replacing fluorescent fixtures and control switches, as well as disconnecting wiring;
  • Perform minor construction work, including building storage bins, stockroom shelves, counters, and workbenches using precision hand and power tools;
  • Complete mechanical work involving repair and maintenance of facility machinery, motors, and vehicles;
  • Assist in maintaining the security of assigned detainees;

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least two years of experience in general maintenance and/or related construction trade;
  • A valid, active driver's license;
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment necessary for making proper repairs;
  • The ability to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and electrical repairs;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with residents and staff;
  • The capacity to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation;

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
