About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Mental Health Program Coordinator to join our team at VitalCore Health Strategies in Augusta, Georgia.

As a Mental Health Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based interventions within a correctional facility. You will also provide clinical and administrative supervision and monitoring of a behavioral health delivery system that meets the accreditation standards of the American Correctional Association and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual- and group-level mental health services, treatment planning, and crisis management to incarcerated persons with the site mental health unit, infirmary, and restorative housing.
  • Serve an administrative role within the medical unit, overseeing the implementation of VCHS policies and procedures.
  • Provide essential quality assurance data to the VCHS Regional and Corporate offices through the use of electronic medical records.
  • Supervise the behavioral health staff, including qualified behavioral health professionals and substance use disorder counselors.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and rounds with behavioral health staff.
  • Attend monthly meetings with VCHS Regional and Corporate administrators.
Requirements
  • A graduate-level degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Must be independently-licensed (i.e., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist).
  • Supervisory and correctional experience is preferred.
